A brief history
Mar Vista is one of the oldest neighborhoods in LA. Before it was annexed in 1927, the area wasa farming community known as the Lima Bean Belt. When the Venice Short Line trolley was opened, transporting passengers between Los Angeles and Santa Monica or Venice Beach, the area’s population rapidly grew.
